Engineering

Engineering – technical documentation and production drawings

We prepare production documentation based on sketches, samples, old drawings or on-site measurement. The service is available on its own or combined with production.

Scope of services

Production drawings

Production drawings with dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, geometrical requirements and surface specifications. Formats: STEP, DXF, DWG, PDF, 3D PDF. FEA strength calculations.

Documentation updates

Digitisation of paper drawings and older CAD files, updating of standards, materials and semi-finished products.

Bills of materials

Bills of materials with item numbers, materials, standard parts and semi-finished products – as an Excel file or in the format required by your ERP system.

Measurement and reverse engineering

On-site measurement of parts and preparation of documentation, also for spare parts without documentation.

Cost analysis

Before production we review the design for manufacturing costs: tolerances, bending radii, sheet thicknesses, weld accessibility and the dimensions of galvanising and coating lines. Notes are provided with the quotation.

Material and process selection

Selection of steel grade, alloy and surface protection to suit the operating conditions of the part.

Process

1. Submission of available material – photos, sketches, drawings, CAD files or the part itself.

2. Feedback on missing information.

3. Documentation for approval.

4. Optional production – the cost of documentation is credited against the order.

Confidentiality and ownership of documents

Documentation prepared on commission becomes the property of the customer. Drawings are shared only with those involved in quotation and production; on request we sign a non-disclosure agreement. Invoicing on a time basis with an agreed upper limit.
